Catholic Health Professionals of Charlotte is pleased to announce our next lecture event on Thursday November 7 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Patrick (1621 Dilworth Road East). Our guest will be Nikolas Nikas, JD, Catholic attorney.
Mr. Nikas will speak on The Crisis of Reason in Western Law and Its Impact on Medicine: How the absence of a natural law understanding in modern law has undermined medicine’s ability to assist patients and uphold the dignity of life.
Mr. Nikas, an attorney, is the President and General Counsel of the Bioethics Defense Fund, a public interest organization that addresses bioethics issues, legislation and litigation strategy, and conscience rights for healthcare workers. He has spoken at medical schools, Catholic Medical Association and Catholic Bar Association national conferences, seminaries, law schools, and locally at St. Bernadette Church in Linville.
The evening begins with a 6:30 p.m. hors d’oeuvres reception followed by a 7:00 p.m. presentation.
