Below are talks and resources from the 2024 Mass of Consolation for Miscarriage and Stillborn Loss at Saint Mark parish, co-sponsored by Saint Mark Respect Life and our program, Carolina Pro-Life Action Network (C-PLAN).
Deacon Tom and Heather Martin, Patrick O’Hearn, and Christine Wisdom shared their own testimonies and offered support to others who have suffered with miscarriage or stillborn loss.
Thanks to Saint Mark parish, we also share a special resource guide for parents seeking healing after their loss and two of the talks from the event.
Resource Guide: Tips for Coping after Miscarriage
The two books noted during the event can be found here:
- Nursery of Heaven: Miscarriage, Stillbirth, and Infant Loss In the Lives of the Saints and Today’s Parents – by Patrick O’Hearn
- Jellybean: A Baby’s Journey to God – by Theoni and Bastian Bell (a children’s book explaining miscarriage)
We also want to highlight Redbird Ministries, which is a Louisiana-based Catholic grief support organization for parents who suffered the loss of a child (miscarriage, stillborn, infant, etc.)
Local Catholic author Patrick O’Hearn speaks on miscarriage and the saints.
Saint Mark parishioner and licensed counselor Christine Wisdom, Executive Director of Wisdom Integrative Counseling, speaks on finding healing after miscarriage.
